Building Bridges: Healing the Divide

With all that is happening in the world; the wars, strikes, hate-mongering and all things deplorable, it would be difficult for anyone to argue with the Wisdom of Scripture that explicitly tells us that (paraphrased):

 A House Divided Will Fall

Be forewarned that this blog contains a fair volume of Scripture reference, because the Bible is full of repeated warnings about how we speak; about the tongue being divided wherein we praise someone and out of the same mouth curse the person.  If you look through the Scripture you will see a constant theme, wherein YHWH has to keep reminding the people about how deplorable their speech has become.  He likens it to a weapon.

If the tongue in my mouth is divided, then every word I speak, because the source is divided will be like a sword cutting things into pieces.  If I am singular of mind and speech, then what I speak will be honest and true because there is no ambiguity or duplicity intended by my speech.

The scriptures that I reference below are from the King James (KJV) Bible.

Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Mark 3:24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

Mark 3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Mark 3:26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

Luke 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Luke 12:52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Luke 12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

The word “house” is not used in the strict terms of a physical building. It is representative of everything – beginning with the individual.

My body is the “house” of the Spirit – who I AM. I am not my body.

Gen. 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.

When I am divided in my thinking; what I should or could, will or won’t, can or can’t do – stress enters into my life; into my body. Stress is a precursor for a lot of the physical ailments we suffer. It weakens our immune system and leaves us open for all kinds of dis-eases. Note the word dis-ease. When I am not at-ease, enter dis-ease.

The entire world seems to be in a state of not being at-ease. I guess you can say we’re sick.

What is the solution? It does begin with me, with each and everyone of us. I have spent so much wasted energy trying to please the norms of society and what people, places and things determine should be my course of action and how I should behave. The end result has been a state of living in constant struggle.

I can’t help but think of what is going on in the United States where even the reigning rulers are divided. The USA (whom I refer to as our {Canada} big sister) is very divided. I was concerned because traditionally we have always followed in the footsteps of our big sister. Thankfully, with Prime Minister Trudeau, we are seeing someone who will stand for what matters, despite the pressures of a nation that was once named the #1 place in the world. Hopefully, we will not continue down the same slippery slope as the United States seems to be heading.

I need to heal personally; to bridge the gap between the physical and the spiritual. I need to return to the source – who I AM. We talk much about the ego and its downfalls, but the ego is a gift of the Creator and it has its purpose. What we need is a healthy collaboration between the physical and the spiritual; each has its gifts for contribution to our own well-being and as a result to the well-being of every person, place or thing we encounter in this human journey.

Remember, we are not humans on a spiritual journey, but Spirits on a human journey. That is the source I seek to return to, to continue living rightfully and wholly (and holy) the remainder of this physical existence.

I need to bridge the gap. I need to heal and/or remove the blockages that prevent this healthy collaboration of mind, body and Spirit. I need to return to source; to that point where all of the physical senses and attributes are no longer in control, but are the tools of Me – Spirit – that enable me to physically live out and fulfill my current human purpose.

Heart-MindCollaborate

I know from my presence on the internet that millions upon millions of us are seeking the same; just perhaps explained in different words. It doesn’t matter, for if we are no longer divided, we’ll get there.

I can’t leave off without mentioning the divided member that we all have in our bodies. I speak of the forked tongue. I seem to recall Scriptures such as this because Spirit is dealing with me and my speech. I am not pointing fingers at anyone except myself for I am not the Judge nor the Jury of anything. I am also learning to stop judging myself when I mess up. I need only acknowledge I blew it and then pick myself up and try again. I am so grateful that Yahshua is so gentle with me.

My favourite Scriptures on the tongue are found in the book of James. In James 3:6 we are told that our tongues are, or can be, pretty nasty weapons:

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Below are other Scriptures that reference the tongue, in both the Old and New Testaments. There are those that speak of the good and bad uses of our tongue. In all there are 126 instances resulting from my search using the term “forked tongue.”

We are told in Scripture that God/YHWH just had to speak and it came to be:

Gen. 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Gen. 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Gen. 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, …. and it was so.

Detrimental Speech {Detri-Mental}

Psalms 120:3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

TameTheTongue

This is something Spirit had me put together a few years ago. James 4 summarizes succinctly what I have been trying to express about the damages caused by our tongues:

“What is causing all the quarrels and fights among you? You
desire things and don’t have them. You kill, and you are
jealous, and you still can’t get them. So you fight and quarrel
The reason your don’t have is that you don’t pray! Or, you
pray and don’t receive, because you pray with the wrong
motive, that of wanting to indulge your own desires.”

We do need a return to prayer. Scripture admonishes us to pray for our leaders. No one, not even the staunchest atheist and/or God/YHWH hater – no one is in a position of leadership and power without the permission of the Creator of All. Everything and everyone serves a purpose every nano-second of this human existence.

What that purpose is can be influenced by the power of heartfelt prayer; by our honest, righteous and good intentions for the good of all. We may not like it; that’s okay. Creator gave us minds and choices for a reason. We dislike the “mistake/sin” not the perpetrator/wo/man.

Having healed ourselves with the bridge of love that gives way to collaboration of love between the human and spirit person, Scripture tells us that if just two of us get together in agreement, then it will be done. Just two of us. That is mind blowing to think of such awesome power when we come together in agreement, in accordance with the Heart of Creator.

We just gotta align with Creator. Not so difficult, is it?
