“The” Light – Yeshua Saying #77

In the Coptic Gospel of Thomas, Saying 77 – we hear about the light.  But even before we get to the point of this (one of my shortest blogs ever!), I must say that just having the saying be number 77 is perfection in and of itself!!

Number 7 in the Bible

7 – Perfection

Number 7 is used 735 times, 54 of which are found in the Book of Revelation.  If you include the number of times “sevenfold” (6) and “seventh” (119) are used, the total jumps to 860 references.  It has got to be important.

7 is the number of perfection!

And, if you divided 860 by 7, it comes to 90, and 90 is in

9 Completeness or Finality
9 – Completeness or Finality “It is Finished”

fact 9.

9 symbolizes divine completeness or conveys the meaning of finality.

Okay.  I am digressing, but that is interesting.  At least I think it is.

Saying 77

Jesus said, “It is I who am the light which is above them all.  It is I who am the all.  From me did the all come forth, and unto me did the all extend.  Split a piece of wood, and I am there.  Lift up the stone, and you will find me there.”

This saying makes me estatic because it is affirming for me, personally, that my thoughts that have been so contrary to my church upbringing and studies, are not weird and even more importantly are truth from Spirit!

Who else do you know would tie in number meanings, just by seeing it is saying 77, and then come up with spiritual meaning of both 7 and 9.  Come on.  You must admit, I am somewhat of an enigma and rare breed!

In this saying, I am hearing Yeshua saying He is YHWH. That’s it, nothing more can I add to what this is telling me.

It was Spirit who lead me to take up studies in Reiki and Therapeutic Touch, working with energy and light; things Yeshua would have studied under the Essenes!  YaHOO!

  1. Of course Yehshua is YHWH. Yeshua is the active Spirit of YHWH spread out in all who awaken by it. Yeshua (Christ) is a spiritual Anointing. “Christ in you the hope of glory.”
Anyway, I love 77. You can only understand it in Spirit, and I do, and it is exactly what I believe. 🙂

    1. Well, of course Yeshua is YHWH 🙂 But I love it because those words are included in what he said, not left out like they were in Scriptures. It makes it more in your face … especially for anyone who doesn’t go beneath or beyond the actual word(s); who reads black and white.
