Yesterday it was a gorgeous day here and I was out walking, exploring the neighbourhood. I looked at the faces of the people driving by or stopped at a light, and the few who were also out walking.
Comparing, Judging – Superficial Looking
I found myself thinking, “she’s pretty, or he’s cute,” and if their faces had distinct expressions I wondered what was happening in their lives; if they were smiling I automatically found myself smiling as I passed, if they had a frown or seemed lost, I wondered if they were okay and said a silent pray as I approached and passed them.
I then thought about my thoughts that a person is cute or pretty or looked mad or behaved in a way I didn’t like, or seemed like maybe they were spaced out, lost somewhere.
Spirit spoke to me that we look at people with our physical eyes and the tendency is to think or comment as I did about their exterior self. She then said that we look but rarely do we see the person. I then thought about the saying we use about having “eyes in the back of our head,” and my next thought was, that perhaps those are the seeing eyes, and the “back of our head” part is really back behind the veil.
If we think about what scripture says about YHWH and he sees everything at once. It’s a sort of 360 degree vision.
I then thought about our hearts that have their own brain and that my heart hears when Spirit speaks, so why couldn’t it be that way, that when we truly see a person we are seeing them with YHWH’s all-seeing, 360 degree, inside and out vision.
I speak of things from on a personal level, how we interact with people we know or do not know, how we interact with associates and friends in our work place. But it is more than just our day-to-day life that we need to seek Spirit’s in-sight. We look around the world and the news is a lot of bad news. We need to go beneath the negative, the dark, and find the pebble of truth, the tiny flickering light.
YHWH Is In Control
Remember, YHWH is in control and not one of us is in a place, a job, a position of authority (including business owners, government employees, presidents, prime ministers, etc.) without Creator’s permission. It does not need to be in the sense that the person holds that position by some miraculous working of the Hand of YHWH. Whether implicit or explicit, should Creator decide it is time to remove someone, it will be done.
Remember the Ancients, Prophets, Disciples
Remember Pharaoh? Remember the captivity of Joseph? Remember Daniel, Paul and other disciples? Remember Moses? Remember Yeshua? YHWH works through situations, people, places and things to accomplish His Holy Purpose. Nothing is impossible and most things aren’t always as they seem; there is an underlying something going on, and we need Spiritual in-sight in order not to make the wrong more, say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing.
All Things Work Together For Good
In all of this, no matter who it is that might be rubbing us the wrong way, we must always remember that there is a purpose for that person, place or thing in our life and when that Holy Purpose is accomplished, that person, place or thing will cease to serve its purpose in our lives and either they or we will be removed from the situation, and move on.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Here are a few scriptures that speak about having eyes but not really seeing. For me, when I saw the one in the book of Revelations it set off a bell for me in that Spirit is reinforcing the need for us to start seeing this world, this universe, this multi-verse with Spiritual sight.
Whether or not my suggestion re eyes in the back of our head is plausible is irrelevant. As with everything else, when we are seeking and looking at and for something, we need to call upon our Helper, Spirit, to give us in-sight as to what it is we are actually seeing.
Mar 8:18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
Luk 10:23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
Jhn 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart and be converted, and I should heal them.
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
I pray that our Spiritual eyes be opened and that having seen we do accordingly.
As for what brought me to write this blog, I am working on not being so superficial and, yes judgmental. When I say someone is this or that, I am comparing and I am judging. If I offend in thought, word or deed I need to ask you for your forgiveness, having seen the error of my way(s).
