Wisdom on Deception

This past week the Lord has been giving me Scriptures about wisdom to read.

This morning it was Proverbs 8. The following are the verses that jumped out at me:

:11-13 that tell us Wisdom hates: pride, arrogance, corruption and deceit of every kind

:14-16 Wisdom says she gives us good advice and common sense and because of her strength: “Kings reign in power and Rulers make just laws.”

Watching the news and how certain rulers prefer other rulers who are deceitful and without justice I am not surprised. Do we not prefer the company of those who are like us?

I won’t beat around the bush. I keep thinking of how critical President Trump is of PM Trudeau and my country Canada, and conversely, how complimentary he is of rulers of countries like North Korea, Russia, and lately Saudi Arabia. Something doesn’t smell right.

Proverbs 8 says in verse 9 that her words are:

“plain and clear to anyone with half a mind – if it is only open.”

Perhaps that is the reason: they don’t even have half a mind.
