Malachi 3 – Proverbs 3

I think that Malachi 3 will be a key Scripture for America (Canada & USA) this year.

On Nov 13, 2018 I was given Psalm 3 to read during my morning prayer/meditation. It wasn’t until I finished reading and making notes that I realized I had read Malachi 3. I wrote my blog about it on November 15, 2018.

Well, the same thing happened on January 3, 2019. However, I had been given Psalm 3 yesterday but didn’t get around to it until this morning. I was also given Proverbs 3 to read.

This blog will share how Proverbs 3 ties in with Malachi 3.

Three times I hav been given Malachi 3 and I believe there are messages for individuals and collective groups/ organizations to guide them in decision making “at such a time as this.”

This time, though, I only got as far as reading and making notes on Malachi 3:1 before I realized my mistake.

At this time, the key verse (and perhaps key for my journey) that we are to be aware of is 3:1 which reads:

Malachi 3:1 Look, I am sending my messenger to clear the way before me.

Are we open and available to hear the unusual, the unexpected and will we respond accordingly. Will we listen more intently to what Spirit tells us and obey without question or delay?

Are we prepared to look foolish and be called fools for His Name sake?

I also what to point out there are several posts in 2018 all dealing with truth, honesty, fairness, kindness, etc.

This all sounds so much like what was happening with Sodom and Gomorrah when YHWH was looking for just a few good hu-man’s so as not to destroy all.

Proverbs 3 (CJB Bible)

This proverb talks about YHWH’s teachings and we are admonished not to forget his teachings:

3:1 My son, don’t forget my teachings, keep them in your heart.

3:2 For they will add to you many days, years of life and peace.

3:3 Do not let grace and Truth leave you; bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.

It goes on to promise that when we do these, we will win favor and esteem in the sight of God and of people.

We are told to trust in Adonai with all our heart and not to “rely on your own understanding” and not to be

3:7 …conceited about your own wisdom, but fear Adonai and turn from evil.

We are reminded how the earth was created by YHWH’s wisdom (verse 19) and that by his understanding he established the heavens, and by his knowledge:

3:20 … the deep (springs) burst open and the dew condenses from the sky.

You can’t tell me that with all that is going on around the world both politically and at the hands of Mother Nature, that we aren’t being warned and guided to seek Him more fervently than we have done in years, perhaps centuries!

Aren’t we inundated with lies and slander from our leaders to our peers? Hasn’t our weather become extreme; more frequent disasters and unusual weather phenomena? Haven’t we reached a point when the seasons blend one into the other, or the weather is out of season for the season?

Malachi & Proverbs 3

I feel that the things happening in nature and at the hands of humans have reached a point where nothing but Divine intervention will be able to stem off its worsening and the destructive forces at work. YHWH created it all and it is all in his control. Only he can help; change the hearts of cruel and blind leaders before we wipe out humanity, and still the storms of nature, if we would cooperate and do what we know to be the right thing.

Conclusion

We do need Divine intervention and prayer, humble prayer acknowledging our wrongs and shortcomings, seeking YHWH’s help, is the answer.

I recall pastors speaking of all night prayer vigils. When is the last time any of us have heard of that or participated in one?

I know He answers our individual prayers, but prayers are positive and creative energies with an amazing force. Scripture makes reference to how when two or more are gathered together in his Name He will hear and answer.

P.S.: This year (2019) is a 3 year (2+0+1+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3). Check out the energies of number 3 both in the Bible and numerology.
