Spirit drew me to Psalm 31 and Proverbs 30 on February 12. A very interesting read as it once again addresses things that permeate the world news, and especially the dissent in the USA.
It is about how we think, speak and act, as individuals firstly and then branching out to family, community, country and the universe.
As with disease, if you don’t eradicate the root cause, no matter how much exterior treatment is applied, it will resurface.
YHWH’s word is pure. It doesn’t matter though if we don’t know what He has to say about a certain situation. The first thing any of us must do is get into the Holy Word, approaching it with a prayer request for wisdom and under.
Don’t add anything to His Words. Clearly we must request wisdom and understanding; asking Spirit, on an individual basis what it is that Spirit wants us to hear.
How many times have you read or heard something multiple times, but it wasn’t until that Ah Ha! moment that you heard what Spirit was saying.
If we add to the Word we’re going to be rebuked and, “…you will be found a liar.”
I have written many times on why I think it is that liars are going to be thrown into the lake of fire.
Lies and liars dominate the news.
Proverbs 30 Highlights
Here I will set out those verses that I made specific notation of and about. They all have to do with three and four things.
When the Word makes note of specific things, we better pay attention. We are to individually seek personal understanding and our personal message(s) from Spirit.
The basic message I believe to be is one of the Lord telling us He sees and is very aware of these things, and He is not pleased with us; not at all.
Can’t help but think of Sodom and Gomorrah when they messed up so much the Lord wiped them off the face of the earth. Do any doubt He could be getting equally as ticked off with us?
These verses describe types of people. They deal with how we are treating our parents and the poor and needy of this world.
- those cursing their father and not blessing their mother
- those who are cleaning their own view but in fact aren’t
- those with a haughty look “:14 whose teeth are like swords, yes their fangs are knives; they devour the poor from the earth, the needy from humankind.”
I dare you to suggest this is not happening in our own back yards, and sometimes in our very homes.
This verse says that there are,
“three things are never satisfied, four things never say ‘Enough’.“
Does the word enough sound familiar? I have had to self examine especially when looking around my home at all my stuff and then walking out the front door to face someone sleeping in the street. The Lord has a great way of opening the eyes of our understanding.
So, here are the three and four things spoken in this verse:
- Sh’ol [word for hell] and a barren womb
- the earth never satisfied with water, and
- fire 🔥 which never says enough
We are flooding and burning and you and I are losing the battle. The land is being destroyed and lives lost as well as our stuff. When tragedy knocks at our front door it is in those moments we realize what is important and what is more than enough.
The Word now proceeds to tell us about three things that are too wonderful for us and four that are, “beyond my knowledge.”
- the way of an eagle in the sky
- the way of a snake on a rock
- the way of a ship on the open sea, and
- the way of a man with a girl
I really don’t have much to say about these at this time, except thaw last item about men and girls.
The news has been filled with the wrong way or behaviour of the male population towards the female. Are we again being reminded that the Lord sees these things, and that as Scripture tells us and we have begun to see these last two years, the hidden will be uncovered?
Lots to think about in these few verses of just one Proverb. It clearly shows that the Word has all aspects of our human journey covered and we must look to it for direction from YHWH.
