Light Loses a Friend

This piece of poetic prose came to me as I contemplated how sometimes life in the light is one of solitude. We know that where there is a light shining it dispels darkness; as long as the light is turned on.

If we think of light and darkness as being two people and one without the other cannot be seen (symbiotic), then how will we know that either is present.

Each serves a purpose in our physical and spiritual journey. The difference is that in the spiritual journey we know that darkness will flee from our presence, whereas in the physical they feed off one another.

This is not to say the darkness of the spiritual will not continue to try and put out our lights with tricks and lies. It will. But if we maintain our knowing that light always overcomes darkness, it will not succeed.
